Let’s pretend that it hasn’t been over 3 months since I’ve last blogged. Because if we just pretend, then I won’t have to fill in 3 months worth of happenings!
Alas, it’s been far too long. With 6 people in this family, a lot happens in 3 months. I’ll try to be brief =)
Nathan Plays Basketball
Our second oldest son asked us this season if he could play basketball. So, as any good parent would do, we signed him up. He had a very good season. He grasped the concept of the game much faster than he did last year. At the end of the season, his coach said that he was the best kind of kid to have on a team. He is competitive yet helpful, aggressive yet kind and energetic yet very teachable. We sure do love this little boy!
Boys Being Boys
We have 4 boys. People comment all the time “Wow! You have your hands full!” To which I can only respond, “If you think my hands are full, you should see how full my heart is!” How could you not love all this cuteness?
And some craziness…hey, they’re boys!
Grammy Came to Visit
We had a blast with Ian’s mom visiting us. We went to the rodeo, saw a play, took her to Camp Tejas and the alligator park. She’s special to all of us and we are grateful to have her in our lives!
Mom’s Weekend Away
Perhaps my favorite recap in the post is that of the weekend get-away I had with my best friend, Elizabeth. We’ve been friends since we were 16. Hey! It wasn’t that long ago. She lives in Arizona, us in Texas. Enough said. The last time we had a weekend away from our kiddos was 7 years ago before she had any. It was way overdue! We met in Austin (the coolest city in Texas) and hiked, canoed, ate, laughed and ate some more! It was such a special time, I won’t soon forget it.
