Now that little Nugget is sleeping through the night, he’s officially moved to his own room. That’s one small step for Evan but one giant leap for me. It’s amazing how much better one functions on a full nights sleep!
As the fourth boy in our family, Evan gets the privilege of having all this amazing boy stuff handed down from his brothers. He has all the best boy toys, clothes, equipment and so on. One thing I didn’t want to hand down was the same nursery. Ok, ok, he’s using the same furniture, bedding and decorations but I wanted to create something new for Evan. God only knows, but this may be the last time I decorate a nursery.
I love the hymn “His Eye is on the Sparrow”. Especially Page CXVI's version. For those not familiar with this love song, the chorus lyrics are,
When Jesus is my portion
A constant friend is he
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know he watches over me
His eye is on the sparrow
And I know he watches me
I’m singing it now as I read the words. Great stuff.
All this to say, this lovely song to God is my inspiration for creating this for Evan’s nursery…
I found some incredible examples on Pinterest to help me along. I free-handed my tree with pencil and then filled it in with paint. I used a leaf cut sponge for the leaves, only because I didn’t have the time to hand paint each one. To complete his room, I’d like to find a wall decal with the words “His Eye is on the Sparrow” but I’m pretty sure I’ll have to custom order something like that.
Now our fourth baby has a nursery that’s all his own,
Nighty-night Evan
Love it, Angie! Beautiful!
